ADVANCEMENT
The ACHE Kentucky Chapter leadership believes in the strength, knowledge, and professionalism that the healthcare leaders in our state represent. We take pride in the progress that our statewide healthcare system continues to make to improve the health and health outcomes of our citizens.
It is our goal to continue to strengthen and support those leading this progress by offering an excellent advancement opportunity for each of our chapter members.
Achieving the FACHE credential brings continuous value to you as a healthcare leader, to your organization and to your community. ACHE sets the benchmark for board certification in healthcare management and provides recognition as a leader among leaders in healthcare management. We are excited to offer our members a $250 scholarship toward the Advancement Application fee or a $225 scholarship for the BOG Exam Fee.

MENTORSHIP
Purpose:
To assist master’s level students and early healthcare careerists in their growth and
development and to give mentors, a satisfying and enriching relationship in which to share their
wisdom, insights, and experiences.
Mentor Expectations:
• Willingness to Meet At least Monthly (Virtually or In Person)
• Be accessible (within agreed upon parameters)
• Invest time in learning about the aspirations, attributes, interests, and intentions of the
mentee
• Serve as a resource for updating and refining the mentee’s managerial knowledge andskill set
• Offer guidance for career opportunities and growth for the mentee
• Co-develop the mentor/mentee goals agreement
• Periodically assess the quality and outcome of your work based upon the criteria and
goals set forth (the mentor must ensure that the mentee understands all goals)
• Provide honest, caring, and constructive feedback on a regular basis
• Provide formal and informal feedback to the KY ACHE Mentorship Program regarding
program strengths and opportunities for improvement
Mentee Expectations:
• Be proactive and take responsibility for guiding the direction of the work
• Respect and honor all commitments made to the mentor with respect to their time,
your relationship, and the confidentiality of communication
• Maintain contact with your mentor (within agreed upon parameters)
• Co-develop the mentor/mentee goals agreement
• Request counsel from your mentor and provide feedback on how the information was
helpful
• Define current skill level, identify “gaps” and target key skills/knowledge for
development through mentoring
• Provide formal and informal feedback to the ACHE of KY Mentorship Program regarding
program strengths and opportunities for improvement (communication is the key to a
successful mentoring relationship)
